Green dots shine out
like stars in the stony black.
Stumbling into the dark,
a clatter emerges.
A whispered expletive, silence,
and expectancy of anger.
Silence, dragging on,
was that a door?!
No, just sounds in my head
as I creep back to bed,
wishing for sleep.
