Vampire Weekend love!

2010
01.11

Hey there! Vampire Weekend has songs posted on their website from their new album Contra that’ll be released tomorrow, January 12th!

Check out the action at http://vampireweekend.com/

I’m guessing the easiest way of snagging them will be iTunes which is likely where I’ll end up getting them.

Now I’m going to stop distracting myself and get back to this homework.  Enjoy!  :D

Owl City – Ocean Eyes commentary

Upbeat lyrics make Owl City light-hearted and a joy to listen to. Every song on their new album Ocean Eyes is impossible to stop listening to and their electronic genre provides plenty of beats easy to groove to.

Adam Young, a self proclaimed insomniac, has mixed feeling perfectly into his songs, although they all seem to blend together and become rather unidentifiable from each other due to his repetitious style after awhile. I don’t usually tend to be a fan of the Electronic genre, but something about Young’s style with it’s roots in the nights spent in his Owatonna, Minnesota basement proves to be new and fresh. He seems to understand the feelings of love and complete happiness which he has blended into his lyrics.

While his music may be too lacking of substance for some, he has succeeded in combining intoxicating happy lyrics with an upbeat mood that won’t leave you disappointed upon your first listen.

Just got back from a Freestate dance and saw a bunch of peoples statuses about a sucky dance. And it made me want to remind you guys that it’s you that makes things fun. Everything depends on your attitude going into it and if you have a crappy one then you’ll probably have a crappy time. Just a little reminder.

Ocarina iPhone app

Ocarina’s cool enough I can’t help but post it here.  You can play just about anything on it, except maybe Through The Fire and Flames.  I’m usually not willing to give up any amount of money for apps, even $.99 ones because frankly, most of them suck.  I’m thinking this one’s one of the best music apps out there.  You can even play the Harry Potter theme song on it.  Now excuse me while I go learn how to not look dorky and know how to play Harry Potter on my iPhone.
