Just got back from a Freestate dance and saw a bunch of peoples statuses about a sucky dance. And it made me want to remind you guys that it’s you that makes things fun. Everything depends on your attitude going into it and if you have a crappy one then you’ll probably have a crappy time. Just a little reminder.

Coldplay concert in Omaha, NE

Coldplay's light show is always spectacularI went to a Coldplay concert in Omaha, NE last weekend (6.13.09) that I thought I’d provide some live songs from. They have several songs from Viva la Vida that they played at the concert on their website for download that you could always play over stereo bluetooth on your newly updated iPhone. :) Enough with the talk, here’s the pictures and videos (I uploaded most of these to my FB account for you imported note readers).

The turnout probably would've been better had the World Series not been at the same time in the same city!

Their backdrop had really cool World War type scene shadows to match the band's clothes

When they started singing Yellow, the stage monkeys released Yellow balloons from the rafters

I uploaded several photos of the trip to my Facebook account (which also has a nifty new username which FB oddly gave its users the ability to create the Friday before my trip). I’ve embedded several of them in this post, but if you’d like to see the whole album, you can access the public version too.

Black Eyed Peas – I’ve gotta feeling

Update: here’s an updated video with the recent flash mob performance in Chicago on Opera. :D   My previous video was, unfortunately, deleted due to a “terms of use violation.”  Stupid YouTube and their overly cautious moderators.

I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good night
that tonight’s gonna be a good good night (x4)

Tonight’s the night night
Let’s live it up
I got my money
Let’s spend it up

Go out and smash it
Like Oh My God
Jump off that sofa
Let’s get get OFF

I know that we’ll have a ball
If we get down
And go out
And just loose it all

I feel stressed out
I wanna let it go
Lets go way out spaced out
and loosing all control

Fill up my cup
Mozoltov
Look at her dancing
Just take it off

Let’s paint the town
We’ll shut it down
Let’s burn the roof
And then we’ll do it again

Let’s Do it (x13)
And live it up

I gotta feeling that tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night (x2)

Tonight’s the night
Let’s live it up
I got my money
Let’s spend it up

Go out and smash it
Like Oh My God
Jump off that sofa

We gotta rock

Easy come
Easy go
Now we on top

Feel the shot
Body rock
Rock it don’t stop

Round and round
Up and down
Around the clock

Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday
Friday, Saturday
Saturday to Sunday

Get get get get get with us
You know what we say
Party every day
Pa pa pa Party every day

And I’m feelin
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night

I gotta feeling tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good night
That tonight’s gonna be a good good night

Death Cab for Cutie – Grapevine Fires

2009
06.06

One of my new favorite songs I think…

When the wind picked up the fire spread
And the grapevines seemed left for dead
And the Northern sky looked like the end of days
The end of days

The wake-up call to a rented room
Sounded like an alarm of impending doom
To warn us it’s only a matter of time
Before we all burn

Before we all burn
Before we all burn
Before we all burn

We bought some wine and some paper cups
Near your daughters school when we picked her up
And drove to a cemetery on a hill
On a hill

And we watched the plumes paint the sky gray
But she laughed and danced through the field of graves
And there I knew it would be alright
That everything would be alright

Would be alright
Would be alright
Would be alright

And the news reports on the radio
Said it was getting worse
As the ocean air fanned the flames
But I couldn’t think
Of anywhere I would have rather been
To watch it all burn away

To burn away

And the firemen worked in double shifts
With prayers for rain on their lips
And they knew it was only a matter of time
