Spring break

2009

Unfortunately Spring break just ended. It was fun while it lasted but now all I have to look forward to is summer. I’m starting work on a new website and just aced a math test as far as I can tell, so I’m pretty content. I don’t have swimming for another couple weeks and am off of tennis for today but have a meet tomorrow. School got out at 1:30 so I have about 10 hours to do pretty much whatever I want, so I decided to try out my new wordpress app for the iPhone. And I typed the whole thing with only 1 spelling error it didn’t auto correct. Does the iPhone “learn” from your typing style? Anyone know?

Pet peeves

UPDATE: This poem is metaphorical.  I’m not referring to my actual grandparents.

An irritation of great proportions,
popping gum explodes, ringing in the ear.
Grandparents talking and great distortions,
the television I now cannot hear.

Making really stupid sounds from across the room,
children cry as mother slaps with a crack.
Wafting past the door, the smell of perfume,
and the wearer I am urged to attack.

An empty plate of crumbs on the counter,
the rage of anger almost boils over.
A slow driver I often encounter,
honking my horn, I’m enraged moreover.

People are so extremely annoying,
that my mind they are slowly destroying.

Obtainable after gaining 2,000 points on Social Vibe

Social Vibe is a great way to give real money to charities that you think deserve it. It’s super easy to do and I’ve already gotten a “pink ball” from it (picture included), which you get after 2,000 points.

That only took me a couple months and I currently have about 6,000 points which I’m giving to help the environment. You can help out by clicking the link below or clicking here: http://www.socialvibe.com/?r=385934&i5

I saw a man walking, drft2 final

I saw a man walking
and as I passed him
in the misting rain,
I felt his aching bones.

I saw a man walking
as his cane brushed
against the clean evergreens
and became my bike.

I saw a man walking
and as I nodded to him
my head became his head
and I felt the pain of age.

I saw a man walking
through the forest as
he texted a friend,
tapping his hands on his cane.

I saw a man walking,
tripping, falling, and
felt his pain in my own legs,
and cried at his broken cane.

I saw a man walking, drft1

I saw a man walking
but the man was deceitful
for he appeared to be a boy.

I saw a boy walking
and the boy paused
as the evergreens brushed his bike.

I saw a boy walking
through the cool green forest,
pausing, texting a friend.

I saw a boy walking
as the cool rain beats down,
soaking his hair and face.

I saw a boy walking
and I remembered the
wet hands were my hands
and the drenched soul was my soul.

I saw myself walking
as the thoughts persisted,
the leaves rustled,
and superfluous technology cracked against rock.

We shall eat cookies

We shall eat cookies
when the day is bright
as we relax under the willows
and the hammock is deep.

We shall eat cookies
to wash away the sorrow
as the tire swings
over the clear pond.

We shall eat cookies
when the storm is in sight
the foundation is solid,
and the building sturdy.

We shall eat cookies
as the screen door swings
the breeze rolls in
and the sheets are soft.

We shall eat cookies
as the rainbow shines
the day is cool, and the
mountain air carries lilacs.
